Scheduling

You need to schedule three months before your expected date. I know that sometimes we have some babies who show up a bit early to the party, so no worries I will make a way to get them done when the baby is allowed to leave the NICU. I can also come by and do some photos of the baby in the NICU. All I ask is that you are willing to give me gas money on arrival to the hospital.

The Baby Has Arrived!

Once you and the baby are able to leave the hospital contact me so that we may schedule an exact time and day for the session.  Know that it is always better to do the session as soon as possible. As the baby ages, everyday makes a difference in how they will do during the session. They sleep more, and are less likely to wake up when moved or positioned. They tend to learn stretching pretty fast, and it will be harder to get those perfect images you want if they aren't allowing me to position and wrap them.

Where will it be?

People are usually more comfortable at home, so therefore I only do sessions at their homes. That means you don't have to worry about packing anything or forgetting anything.  Newborn Photography can be an hours long deal, up to about 4-5 depending on how comfortable the baby is and how co-operative they are.  I will do multiple pics of family in them too. So if grandparents want to be in them, then they can no extra charge.  You can get hungry during the session so don't hesitate to cook or send someone out for food. We will bring snacks for us and eat before leaving. Any outfits you have or stuffed animals you want to have added will make a great addition to your photos. Know that I will be using the baby blankets and their items so that these images are all about your baby and are personalized. I have props and wraps that we will use so no worries if there is something particular you are looking for let me now at scheduling to ensure you get the items you want. (Know that I will not spend above $35 extra past what I already have in my collection.)

The Baby

You will need to make sure the baby is fed while I am setting up so they will try and sleep. I also suggest feeding before I arrive and to keep the baby awake as long as possible and then feed them again once I get there and setup. Once fed, the baby will be stripped except for the diaper. Soothing takes about 15 minutes after wrapping. I have protective pads in case of accidents while shooting. Which is another reason I setup at your home, in case an accident occurs on mom and dad, they can change clothes and put their dirty ones in the washer. Babies that sleep before a shoot are often very hard to get soothed.

Quiet Please

While we are photographing we must make sure that noise is kept to a minimum. If there are animals please let me know so we can come up with a solution to keep noise as minimal as possible.

Temperature of your home

It needs to be about 75-80. We will be a little sweaty, so please wear something loose and comfortable.

Safety!

One or both parents will be my assistant while the session is undergo. There will always be two hands on the baby, and whoever has hands on the baby will also have their eyes on them. We have to take precautions to ensure the baby is always safe. I do post editing to get you the images you want and deserve without taking any risk to your baby. I have been trying to conceive for 4 years now, so I can assure you I would not do anything to put your baby in any harm.
